Allie & Brian | Bridal shower + wedding stationary

Today’s tidbit: “Design can be art. Design can be aesthetics. Design is so simple, that’s why it is so complicated.” — Paul Rand

Happy October! After an 18 hour flight, I got back from my adventure to South Africa this morning and am trying to play catch up. LOTS of blog posts coming soon on that eye opening and life changing experience! For now, more news on my sisters wedding which is weeks away! As I mentioned in my August recap post, I designed the stationary for both Allie’s bridal shower as well as their wedding suite.

Bridal Shower. I enjoyed coming up with a theme (wine!) and designing Allie’s bridal shower suite. The shower was September 7th and the invitations were mailed out the beginning of August. Allie & Brian are the perfect pair and the shower focused on pairing wine with the prefect food and what to look for, complete with a full wine tasting from the owner of a local Roanoke winery, Valhalla Vineyards. Look for a full blog post on the bridal shower next week!

I wanted the invitations to carry over some of the wedding invitation elements and work together but also bring something new in. On the envelope label I put every persons first initial on the wine bottle graphic to add a personalized touch. The type is both a red and cranberry, which are also used on the wedding suite.

Wedding. I enjoyed collaborating on the wedding suite and coming up with something clean, unique and interesting with Allie & Brian. After lots of versions, we finalized the design and had it printed. When the shipment came in August it was like Christmas. So nice to see the final pieces all come together. Cranberry was the main color on the bridal shower suite and a deeper red was used for the wedding suite. After opening and organizing everything, Allie and I were busy putting the inserts in all the invitations, closing the belly band and tying the ribbon. It was a lot of work, with some trial and error, but we were thrilled with the results! I enjoyed working on it for them.

I just got back today and am on the move again, heading to New York tomorrow–Sunday for a friends wedding. Early next week I will be posting on Allie’s bridal shower and then the South Africa posts will start 🙂 Have a wonderful week!
