The what if’s or the right now?

Today’s tidbit: “The very least you can do in your life is figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is live inside that hope. Not admire it from a distance but live right in it, under its roof.” ― Barbara Kingsolver

I’m excited to announce that I will be leaving Sunday to head on my longest and furthest international trip yet… Australia!! It is a place I have dreamt about for as long as I can remember and I’m ready to turn that dream into a reality and wonderful adventure.

As I mentioned in my reflection post earlier this week, coming back from South Africa changed me in many ways. It left me craving something more, something new. I’ve been doing lots of questioning and reflecting the last few months. We have but one life to live on this Earth so why not make the most of it?

Here are 5 things I’ve learned and come to terms with:

The ‘what if’s’ are not worth dwelling on so kiss those words good-bye and begin to look forward to the future.

You may not feel it at this moment but one day you’ll look back and appreciate what you’re going through. Trust that you are doing the best you can right now.

We can’t go back in time to change a situation or make a better decision but we can have a different perspective today and make the right decisions to bring us closer to our dreams and goals.

Keep questioning, growing and changing. Even if others don’t understand your journey.

Take the risks needed now to get to where you want to be in the future. Be bold and have faith.

What will you choose, the what if’s or the right now? I hope you choose the latter. In the end we only regret the chances we didn’t take.

I’m choosing to take risks and go for it now to help get to where I want to be in the future. Sunday I will start my long journey and multiple flights across the world to Perth. I am nervous but at the same time so excited to get this adventure started! I will be staying in Perth the beginning and end of my tip. In between I will have limited internet access as I explore more of Western Australia and road trip up north along the coast for a few weeks. I may get a blog post in while I am in AU, but if not you know what future posts will be about when I return mid July! 🙂

Surely you know my answer to this question…. 🙂
I am so proud of you for finding the courage and strength to follow your heart and your dreams. No change comes without pain, confusion and doubt, but you have risen above all that, booked your tickets, packed your bags, and mentally checked into that heavenly place called travel and adventure mode again!!!! GOOD FOR YOU! Although I won’t be by your side physically, you know I am there in spirit and will live this trip vicariously through your emails, blogs and pictures. Be safe, have fun and be happy! Hugs and best wishes for the adventure of your dreams and memories to last a lifetime. Oh and finding a job there would be super-de-duper so I can come visit and explore Down Under as well :-))))))
