Pamela & Sim + Pamela’s bridal shower
Today’s tidbit: “Now and then it’s good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.”
— Guillaume Apollinaire
Remember the gorgeous couple I posted engagement pictures of awhile back, Pamela and Sim? Well, their wedding is only a few months away now (June 15th) and I can hardly believe it! After a few weeks of planning and coordinating with Pamela’s mom and sister, last Saturday everything came together in what turned out to be a beautiful bridal shower for Pamela. A family friend was nice enough to let us host the event at her huge, beautiful home out in Haymarket, VA. With (practically) floor to ceiling windows all you saw was the beautiful countryside surrounding you, which was just amazing during sunset! I hadn’t been out that way in a while, but one of the first barns I used to ride at in middle school was out there. It was a nice trip down memory lane as I drove to the house to help set up.

The party was in the afternoon, complete with fancy finger food, delicious desserts and a mimosa bar (which I was in charge of, along with one other bridesmaid). Although a few little things came up and another bridesmaid was unfortunately unable to make it (she got a flat tire on her way to the airport, terrible!), the mimosa bar was well stocked and a huge hit! The tables were decorated with white linens, clear and silver dishes and glass vases filled with purple tulips. Everything looked radiant with all the natural light that reflected and filled the room from all angles.
The lavender waxworks candles were the perfect touch.
Pamela’s mom had come up with the idea of having plant favors, which were ordered in purple and white to go with the colors. These little flowers smelled wonderful and were used on tables for decorating, which was a nice touch. She wanted me to come up with a label to put on the pots, which I gladly said I would do. She said to keep it simple, like an avery label, but of course I wanted to come up with something more creative. Below are the little labels I made and attached to all the pots with purple and white ribbon. It was time consuming, but they looked so cute. It’s those little details that make the difference, and I know Pamela appreciated it!
It really was such a beautiful day and fun afternoon. My next project is planning Pamela’s bachelorette party (I’m in charge of that!) to Atlantic City. Below are a few of the pictures I took at the shower. No party would be complete without a toilet paper wedding dress competition and presents! Enjoy!
A little something I designed for Pamela.
Adorable present topper I found.
One of the engagement pictures I took printed on a canvas. I loved everyone’s reaction when she held it up… a unanimous “aaaaaaaaaww!”
