Day 3, part 2: SA + Harties Cableway
Today’s tidbit: “We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.” ― Jawaharlal Nehru
Earlier this week I posted Day 3, our amazing day at the Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve. As if that wasn’t enough of an adventure the day continued with a drive over to Hartbeespoort. We enjoyed the Harties Cableway, an exciting cable car trip on the longest mono-cableway in Africa. It offers views of the beautiful Magaliesberg, Hartbeespoort Dam and surrounding areas. Although it wasn’t a very clear evening the fog added to the mysterious feeling, reminding me of San Francisco, CA. Fortunately, the sky did clear enough to be able to really see the panoramic views and put into perspective all the areas below that we had been visiting the previous few days.

Here is part 2 of day 3 (and yes this is a shorter post). I know the last few posts have been longer but there’s just so much to choose from… it’s been a challenge picking from hundreds of photos which to share!
{At the top} Nothing but breathtaking views in every direction!
{fauna and flora} A very small taste of what was around. Read more
{Heading back down}
It really was a beautiful evening.
{Jasmyn} After the cableway, we made a quick unplanned drive through Jasmyn for dinner before heading to our next lodge. It is a beautiful Dutch style small town full of original architecture, flowers + color, art galleries and handcrafted pet shops, one of a kind restaurants… the list goes on.
And that completes day 3! I can’t believe how much we were able to do. Check back Friday (yes, I am trying to crank these SA posts out :))… next up with be a post on an absolutely amazing 5 star boutique hotel we were able to stay at for 1 night!
The stone walk way and overlook is stunning; I would love to stand up there and just feel free. Jasmyn looks very quint and homey. You can really see the influences! Those lime green pots are soooooo you!
That’s exactly what it was like, feeling free. There’s another cableway post coming later at Table Mountain in Cape Town!
Yes, the lime green was all over and I loved it!
Love your close ups of the pink flowers… And the scenic beach shots. Was cable car ride scary at all?
Thanks, it’s quite the view! I’m scared of heights but it really wasn’t bad! There’s another amazing one in Cape Town we went on you’ll see later 🙂
Very neat to see what the places look like and some great views!
Alyssa – thanks for all the postings – I’m on a mini vacation each time I visit.
I’m glad you like them! I am enjoying sharing each and reliving it all also!
Alyssa, your photo’s are stunning and I feel such a part of them! It feels so nice to have someone appreciate us in SA. Thanks!
Thank you so much! My mom and I truly enjoyed our tour and time with you all! I look forward hearing what you think about my other posts.
