Spring in Washington, D.C.
Today’s tidbit: “Wherever you are, be there. If you can be fully present now, you’ll know what it means to live.” ― Steve Goodier
I have been focusing on a few big changes and although it is taking longer than I thought I’m still determined. There’s a reason for all this. You have to keep moving forward. There is beauty in this space if in between, too. In April I enjoyed reconnecting again with where I am, D.C. Although I crave a fresh start and new adventure I’m grateful to live in such a beautiful and thriving area. Spring in D.C. with the cherry blossoms is definitely a site to see and appreciate.
{Renew. Refresh. Enjoy today.}

{D.C. the beginning of April} Whatever is good for the soul, do that. For me, that’s family, the outdoors, sun and exploring. Whatever it is, do it and surround yourself with it. I spent an absolutely beautiful spring day downtown with my dad and brother. The blossoms weren’t in full bloom yet but it was a great to walk around, go on the paddle boats and just enjoy the day.
{D.C. mid April + cherry blossom festival} I went back again the following weekend (4.12.14) with a good friend and my old roommate, Holly and her dog Jax. I decided it would be best to leave Sammy at home since I’d be busy taking pictures. It was another beautiful weekend, perfect weather for the peak of the blossoms. When I went with my dad and brother the blossoms were still buds and in transition but now they were in full bloom and gorgeous. It was another wonderful day enjoying D.C.
Hello spring! I’m grateful I was able to get outside and spend these weekends with family and friends. So many people come to see the cherry blossoms every year from all over the world, and I am within an hour away. Time to take advantage of that. It was nice to take a break from planning my next step and focusing so much on leaving, and instead just enjoy the day… enjoy D.C. and where I currently am.
If you haven’t been to Washington, D.C, go visit!
So pretty! Glad it was great weather and you were able to go. Sad we missed them this year! Will have to visit D.C. again before we leave for Colorado. Good reminder also, living in the present. Things will line up for you soon but enjoy what you have now! 🙂
Thanks sissy. And yup, we’ll have to visit in May before you leave! 🙂
It was such a beautiful day! I’m glad we got to go :). I’m always amazed at how awesome your shots turn out, though I don’t know why! I definitely know by now what a great eye you have and how skilled you are with a camera in your hands!
It was beautiful and I had so much fun with you all day. Aw, thanks for the nice compliments! 🙂 Now you can see what I was capturing when I stopped every 5 minutes to take a picture (and you know there were plenty I didn’t post!). We will have to plan another day trip to play tourists in D.C. again soon!
Great post and pictures! Your first photograph reminded me of Retiro Park, Madrid. Just another place to visit! http://touristeye-photos.s3.amazonaws.com/places/web/parque-del-buen-retiro_f9c5b6dd4f32b8d3197077caae5940db6a438df0.jpg
