Today’s tidbit: “Falling in love consists merely in uncorking the imagination and bottling the common sense.” — Helen Rowland
Brian and Allie have been together for more than 6 years, since they met at the University of Virginia during Allie’s first year. Throughout all of undergrad, and now medical school, they have had a strong relationship and stayed deeply in love. This shoot was very special as it’s with my twin sister!

A few personal favorites:
They got engaged this past January during a weekend trip to a cute B&B near the Charlottesville wineries on Brian’s birthday weekend. On the second day of the trip they took a picnic and went for a hike up to the top of a mountain on Skyline Drive with amazing views surrounding them. In that beautiful setting, without anyone else around, Brian held out a gorgeous ring and proposed. Though she was in total shock, Allie said yes!
Brian and I had come up with a plan for me to surprise Allie after the proposal. Knowing when Brian was going to propose was one of the biggest secrets I have had to keep. I was thrilled I was able to celebrate with them and take pictures right after! I was even more excited when they asked me to do their engagement pictures, since I am the maid of honor in the wedding and can’t do the wedding pictures. Allie and Brian decided to do their engagement pictures in Charlottesville, since they had met there and it holds a special place in their hearts.
The first session was spent at Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyard, a scenic and popular winery… especially on a beautiful (though windy!) fall day. Charlottesville is known for its wineries and I definitely recommend checking some out
if you haven’t!
