Stephanie & Mark + newborn session | Woodbridge, VA
Today’s tidbit: “Words can not express the joy of new life.”— Hermann Hesse
From South Africa to the Western Caribbean there have been a lot of travel blog posts lately. Now that I am finished with those, I’m excited to share a photo shoot I did last Saturday. Do you remember the family shoot in November and maternity shoot in March with Stephanie, Mark and their twin girls, Charlotte & Reagan? I was thrilled to work with the family for a third time meeting Natalie, the newest member of the family. I’ve shown Stephanie & Mark a sneak peek image but they haven’t seen anything else, until now!
{shoot location} Like with the maternity shoot, this shoot was special because it captured the family in their beautiful home and Natalie in her first nursery before they move to California next week.

Like Crystal & Sam (remember their family session, part 1 & part 2) who moved a week after their shoot, Stephanie & Mark will be moving to San Diego, CA as well next week (the movers are at their house today). I think having the shoot at their VA home in Natalie’s first nursery and where Charlotte & Reagan have grown up make it really special.
Loved how some of the maternity pictures I took were printed on canvas and hung in the nursery!
The shoot was originally planned for when Natalie was 1 week old but the family had a cold going around so we pushed it back until everyone was healthy again. Natalie was 3 weeks old in these pictures, just old enough to be wiggly and awake. Adorable. When I posted the sneak peek image on Facebook earlier this week it was Charlotte & Reagan’s 3rd birthday!
{a little background} With all of the shoots I do, I like to give some background into the couple or family. Stephanie was kind enough to share this…
“Natalie Anne was born on May 9, 2014 at 6:35am, which just happened to be my 30th birthday. She was 6lbs 8oz & 19 3/4 inches long. She was obviously in a rush to get here because she was born within 20 minutes of getting to the hospital with a completely natural med free delivery!
Her big sisters Charlotte & Reagan are completely in love with her and help mommy out a lot with bringing diapers, wipes, blankets and whatever else Natalie needs. Natalie is growing so fast and looks exactly like her big sisters! Mark and I feel so blessed to be her parents and we can’t wait to see her grow and hit all of her milestones. She’s recently started smiling at us when we baby talk to her.”
The three girls couldn’t be any cuter! Onto the pictures of this beautiful growing family, and of course a few detail shots. Enjoy!
Like with the maternity shoot, Stephanie had some ideas for different poses but the girls decided they wanted to do their own thing. It was a challenge but I love the shots because they are natural. I love the range, from smiling and looking at each other to all the goofy ones, because it captures their personality and mood!
Aren’t they just an adorable family?! I was thrilled to work with them again and meet Natalie! Wishing them safe travels as they head to CA. Now that both Crystal and Stephanie’s families will be in San Diego, I might have to plan a trip out there 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend!
Absolutely in LOVE with these pictures! You did an amazing job and I am so grateful to have had you do our family, maternity and newborn pics! Truly special memories! Can’t thank you enough! I am so excited to blow some of these up on canvas to put in our new house!
So glad you love them! I’m grateful we were able to work together 3 times. Your family is so adorable. Can’t wait to see which you blow up for the new house! Trip to SD in my future? 😉
What a beautiful baby and family! Love the one of Natalie looking up at her sisters and the one touching her toes. Adorable and precious memories. Congratulations. Well done again Alyssa 🙂 It’s neat you all were able to do 3 shoots together.
It was really nice being able to do all 3 shoots and spend time with the lovely and adorable growing family!
What beautiful photography and moments captured! These will be cherished I’m sure. Well done.
